Road Rollers
There are several different types of road roller, each with their own uses.
Pedestrian rollers, or walk behind rollers, are the simplest type. These mechanical push along rollers can be single or double drum. Walk behind rollers are easier to transport and useful on lighter jobs such as paths and walkways where access may be an issue.
Ride on road rollers generally have steel tandem rollers. These double drum rollers are largely used in road building, asphalting, resurfacing work and smaller construction sites.
Single drum rollers are used for soil compaction and on landfill sites as well as in road construction. These larger machines have a single drum with specialist pads suitable for soil compaction on major building works.
